Pixelle Specialty Solutions has announced the closure of its Chillicothe Paper Mill by August 10, 2025, relocating operations to Pennsylvania. Plans to sell the plant are open, but decommissioning is underway without a buyer. Efforts to keep the mill operational have failed, leading to support for impacted employees during the transition.

Pixelle Specialty Solutions, a North American specialty paper manufacturer, will cease production at its Ohio mill. The company, part of H.I.G. Capital, is working with officials to discuss the site’s future and redevelopment options. Despite exploring alternatives, declining staffing levels and demand have necessitated the closure.
