Popeyes UK secures a £43m ($58.1m) loan from Barclays for nationwide expansion, planning to open 45 new stores across the UK this year. The chain holds the master UK franchise for Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, founded in 1972, with 4,000 restaurants globally. SSP Group collaboration aims to introduce Popeyes into major travel hubs, starting with Birmingham Airport. TDR Capital’s investment fuelled rapid growth, with over 80 UK locations since November 2021. In 2024, Popeyes introduced Honey Lemon Pepper Wings and expanded the menu in Canada with new buffalo-flavoured items.
