QQQ Attracts $572M in Assets as Markets Start June Higher

Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ) attracted $571.5 million, with total assets exceeding $334 billion, as the S&P 500 rose 0.4% despite U.S. tensions with China and the EU. SPDR Gold Shares (GLD) received $302.1 million, while Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) and Vanguard FTSE Europe ETF (VGK) gained $240.3 million and nearly $238 million, respectively.
SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (SPY) saw outflows of $2.7 billion, contrasting with broader market gains. Vanguard Information Technology ETF (VGT) and iShares 20+ Year Treasury Bond ETF (TLT) both experienced outflows of $1.1 billion. U.S. equity ETFs lost $5.3 billion, while U.S. fixed income dropped $2.1 billion.
Overall, ETFs had outflows of $6.9 billion, with U.S. equity losing $5.3 billion. International fixed income gained $781 million, and commodities ETFs collected $456.9 million. Investors awaited potential talks between Presidents Donald Trump and Xi Jinping, with uncertainty in the markets.
