Ralph Lauren executives received significant pay increases, tied to stock performance

Ralph Lauren Corp. executives saw a pay boost, with the executive chairman’s total pay rising 22.6% to $24.2 million last year, and the CEO’s compensation increasing 38.8% to $23.1 million. Stock awards were a significant part of their packages, tying their pay to company performance.

The company’s proxy statement, filed before the annual meeting on July 31, highlighted Ralph Lauren’s successful strategic plan execution, leading to a 16.8% rise in shares during the fiscal year. The company’s market capitalization is now around $16 billion, a strong valuation in the fashion industry.

Following the annual meeting, Angela Ahrendts will become Ralph Lauren’s lead independent director, taking over from Hubert Joly, who served on the board for 16 years. Ahrendts, a respected innovator in the industry, has been on the board since 2018 and will bring valuable guidance to the company.
