RFK Jr.'s new ACIP CDC vaccine panel meets with new critics and evidence-based recommendations
From CNBC: 2025-06-25 13:31:00
A government panel of vaccine advisors, ACIP, is meeting after HHS Secretary Kennedy appointed new members, including vaccine critics. ACIP reviews vaccine data and makes recommendations for eligibility and insurance coverage. The new chair, Dr. Kulldorff, emphasized evidence-based recommendations. The panel will evaluate Covid-19 and RSV vaccines and create new work groups. One appointee, Dr. Ross, withdrew from ACIP due to financial holdings review. The new members include vaccine critics like Dr. Malone and Retsef Levi, who oppose mRNA vaccines. Vicky Pebsworth, a nurse on the board of a controversial vaccine information center, disclosed her stock holdings in vaccine manufacturers. Kennedy fired previous ACIP members for conflicts of interest, but the new members are under the government’s conflict of interest threshold.
