Samson Mow aims to boost Bitcoin adoption in Europe after meeting French lawmaker Sarah Knafo. Plans include creating a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve for France. Knafo invites Mow to visit France to discuss further. Mow recently left Blockstream to focus on JAN3 for nation-state adoption. France continues Bitcoin involvement, with Blockchain Group acquiring 624 Bitcoin for 60.2 million euros and Bpifrance investing 25 million euros in local crypto projects.

Concerns arise about Europe’s lagging crypto adoption rate, despite recent acquisitions and investments. Brickken’s general counsel notes limited corporate adoption and structural barriers in regulation and market maturity. MiCA, the EU’s regulatory framework for crypto-assets, was proposed in 2020, adopted in 2023, and enforced in 2024. Europe yet to take a definitive stance on Bitcoin as a reserve asset.
