The US SEC has withdrawn rules proposed under Biden administration, including those on crypto custody and exchanges. The move is part of President Trump’s deregulation promise. One nullified rule, 3b-16, would have broadened the definition of “exchange” to include DeFi protocols. Another rescinded rule aimed to raise custody standards for crypto, requiring qualified custodians. Other withdrawn rules include cybersecurity and ESG reporting requirements.
