The bill would phase out tax credits in 2028, surprising investors. The industry faces disruption, bankruptcies, and layoffs, with Solar Mosaic and Sunnova Energy already filing for bankruptcy.

President Trump’s return and high borrowing costs have impacted the clean energy industry, prompting companies to onshore operations. The US plans to impose tariffs as high as 3,521% on panel imports from Southeast Asian countries. Despite hopes of tax credit preservation, the Invesco Solar ETF is down over 4% year to date.
