SPY Attracts $1.5B in New Assets Despite Weak ADP Jobs Data

The SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (SPY) attracted $1.5 billion, reaching $608.5 billion in assets. Meanwhile, the iShares Core U.S. Aggregate Bond ETF (AGG) gained $564.9 million, and the Vanguard Intermediate-Term Corporate Bond ETF (VCIT) saw inflows of $414.3 million. U.S. equity ETFs received $2.4 billion in net inflows, leading to concerns about economic growth.

On the flip side, the SPDR Portfolio S&P 500 ETF (SPLG) experienced outflows of $399.6 million, while the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) lost $273.2 million. Additionally, the iShares Core S&P 500 ETF (IVV) had outflows of $239.5 million. Overall, ETFs gained $6.6 billion, with U.S. fixed-income ETFs receiving $2.1 billion in inflows.

In total, ETFs collected $6.6 billion on Wednesday. U.S. equity ETFs led with $2.4 billion in net inflows, followed by U.S. fixed-income ETFs with $2.1 billion. International equity ETFs attracted $959.5 million, and currency ETFs pulled in $501.9 million. This came ahead of Friday’s nonfarm payrolls report and amid concerns about economic growth.
