Stellantis initiates voluntary redundancy plan for 610 workers at Mirafiori plant in Italy, part of a 1,600 staff reduction across the country. Aimed at supporting early retirement or new career opportunities, workers can sign up until end of July. Plant to stabilize workforce in August for launch of new Fiat 500 hybrid in November.

Union representative Luigi Paone states plan targets older workers to make way for hiring young employees as production of hybrid 500 approaches. Similar packages agreed in other Italian plants for total reduction of 1,660 workers this year. Stellantis staff in Italy decreased from 55,000 to less than 40,000 since merger with PSA.
