Stock market opens strong on track for record close, boosted by progress on tax bill

The stock market opened strong on Monday, on track for a record close to end the first half of 2025. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 215 points, the S&P 500 up 0.3%, and the Nasdaq Composite up 0.5%. Stocks were boosted by progress on President Trump’s tax bill before July 4.
