Swiss market closed lower due to investor sentiment drop and uncertain Fed rates

The Switzerland market ended lower after a drop in Swiss investors’ sentiment and uncertainty about Fed interest rates. The SMI fell by 0.58% to 12,015.72, with Lindt & Spruengli and Richemont among the losers. Roche Holding, Nestle, and Zurich Insurance also ended in the red. Straumann Holding climbed 2.75%, while Sonova, Sika, SIG Group, and Kuehne & Nagel gained 1 to 1.25%. A report showed Swiss investors’ sentiment index fell to 17.5 in May from 18.2 in April. Bernard Arnault’s stake in Richemont fueled takeover speculation. UBS Group, Schindler Ps, Partners Group, and more ended weak.
