Talen Energy Corporation has expanded its nuclear energy agreement with Amazon, providing up to 1,920 megawatts of carbon-free electricity from its Susquehanna plant. The agreement supports AWS data centers in Pennsylvania, focusing on AI and cloud technologies. The partnership includes exploring SMR deployment and energy output increases through uprates.
The long-term agreement secures over 900 jobs at the Susquehanna plant, with potential for additional construction and skilled labor opportunities.
