Tetra Pak’s FY24 Sustainability Report reveals a 25% decrease in greenhouse gas emissions since 2019, with a 54% reduction in internal operations. The company aims to achieve net-zero emissions by 2030, cutting emissions by 46% across its value chain. New equipment like the Tubular Heat Exchanger has helped reduce electricity consumption by up to 40%.
Tetra Pak’s sustainability efforts extend to assisting food production facilities in reducing energy use by up to 40% and improving quality consistency by 60%. They have provided nutritious beverages to 66 million children and supported 84,000 dairy farmers across 29 Dairy Hub locations. €100m has been allocated for R&D to enhance carton environmental profiles.
The company’s ‘Approach to Nature’ framework outlines actions to halt environmental degradation, including engaging with workers and collaborating with 150 suppliers through the ‘Join Us in Protecting the Planet’ initiative.
