The Boeing Company (BA) collaborates with Royal Australian Air Force for a successful demonstration involving uncrewed MQ-28 Ghost Bat aircraft and a digital aircraft controlled by a single operator aboard an E-7A Wedgetail surveillance aircraft. This showcases the collaborative combat capabilities of the MQ-28s as forward escorts. The trial validated critical interoperability requirements and demonstrated the integration of mission partners’ software and communication systems into the E-7A Wedgetail’s open systems architecture. The software enabling this integration was developed collaboratively by Boeing Defense Australia, Defence Science and Technology Group, and US Air Force Research Laboratories. Boeing is a leading aerospace company designing commercial and military aircraft, weapons systems, and space technologies.
