Kansas City Royals and Boulevard Brewing Co. send baseball and beer into space

The Kansas City Royals and Boulevard Brewing Co. collaborated to send a Royals baseball and a can of Space Camper Cosmic IPA into space via a high-altitude weather balloon. The package was safely recovered after encountering extreme conditions such as -158°F temperatures and zero air pressure. The launch supports STEM initiatives and includes donations to Girls Who Code and the Cosmosphere International SciEd Center. Boulevard’s Space Camper IPA has seen significant growth since its launch six years ago, making it the perfect beer to send to space. The partnership also involves sustainability efforts, such as planting trees for every “moonshot” home run this season. Boulevard has even created a Space Station bar at Kauffman Stadium for fans to enjoy. Space Camper Day at the K will celebrate these initiatives with giveaways and prizes, including a trip to Spacecamp.
