TotalEnergies has acquired interests in offshore blocks in Malaysia and Indonesia from Petronas, totaling over 100,000km². It will operate a 50% interest in Blocks SK301b and SK313 in Malaysia, aiming to contribute to LNG exports from 2030. The transaction is pending regulatory approvals, following the acquisition of SapuraOMV.
TotalEnergies has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Petronas to enhance collaboration in exploration and production globally. The company sees Malaysia as a strategic hub for low-cost, low-carbon production and cash flow growth, with exposure to the Asian LNG market. This deal further strengthens their existing partnership.
In addition to the Malaysia blocks, TotalEnergies will acquire a 24.5% interest in the Bobara block offshore Indonesia from Petronas. This move underscores the commitment to responsible growth and long-term value creation. The focus is on developing high commercial potential while delivering sustainable value for stakeholders in the region.
