The UK’s inflation rate for April was 0.1 percentage points higher than reported due to an error in vehicle tax data, according to the Office for National Statistics. The error was in the Department for Transport’s data on vehicle excise duty, leading to an overstatement of both CPI and RPI inflation for April. The ONS will not be revising the figures for April.
