US Seizes Crypto, 145 Domains Tied to BidenCash Dark Web Market

US authorities seized 145 domains and cryptocurrency linked to dark web marketplace BidenCash, accused of trafficking stolen credit cards and personal data. The platform had over 117,000 users, generated $17 million in revenue, and released 3.3 million stolen credit card records for free to attract cybercriminals.
The US also gained court approval to seize undisclosed crypto tied to BidenCash’s illegal activities. The case was led by the US Secret Service and FBI as part of a broader effort to target crypto-enabled criminal networks on the dark web. BidenCash’s seizure adds to recent enforcement actions against dark web platforms.
In March, US authorities sanctioned the operator of darknet marketplace Nemesis, which facilitated the sale of drugs, hacking resources, and other illicit services. The operator’s Bitcoin and Monero addresses received over $850,000 between July 2022 and March 2024. Darknet markets generated over $1.7 billion in revenue in 2024, mainly led by Russian-language markets.
