Vard, a subsidiary of the Fincantieri Group, has delivered two vessels, the CSOV Grampian Kestrel and CSOV Purus Chinook, which are the world’s first to have cybersecurity notations in compliance with new regulations effective July 1, 2024. These notations protect against cyber threats and align with IACS requirements.

The vessels, contracted in 2023, meet cybersecurity standards through Vard Electro’s SeaQ portfolio. Vard collaborated with customers and classification societies to ensure cyber resilience. The Purus Chinook and Grampian Kestrel also received class notations for climate, noise, and vibration, setting new global benchmarks for offshore working conditions.
