British electric-aircraft developer Vertical Aerospace has expanded its partnership with helicopter ride operator Bristow Group to bring air taxi services into commercial operation. Bristow has ordered up to 50 of Vertical’s VX4 aircraft with options for 50 more, aiming to meet the growing demand for sustainable urban transportation.

The deal offers Vertical’s customers a scalable eVTOL platform, reducing direct operating costs by 60-70%. The partnership includes access to certified aircraft, trained pilots, maintenance, and insurance, managed by both companies. This strategic move aims to lower barriers to market entry and accelerate eVTOL service adoption globally.

Vertical Aerospace is working with Honeywell to certify key air taxi systems and develop a long-range hybrid-electric variant of its VX4. The company is heavily investing in eVTOL technology to meet urban transportation demands in a stringent regulatory environment. The partnership with Bristow Group aims to revolutionize air travel by providing efficient and sustainable solutions.
