De Meo, 58, has over 30 years of experience in the automotive sector and is praised for his strategic vision. He has held leadership roles at Fiat, Volkswagen, and most recently Renault, where he turned the French automaker around by focusing on hybrid and electric vehicles. If confirmed, De Meo would take on the challenge of revitalizing Kering as its shares have dropped over 60% in the last two years. Stock market investors are looking to see if he can turn around the performance of the luxury group.
