Co-founder of Ripple, Arthur Britto, breaks 14 years of silence, sparking XRP surge
From Cointelegraph. June 24, 2025 2:36 am:
Arthur Britto, the co-founder of Ripple, made his first public post since creating the company in 2011. Britto’s post on X was confirmed by fellow co-founder David Schwartz as not a hack. Britto helped create the XRP Ledger and co-founded NewCoin, later rebranded as Ripple Labs. He is also listed as the founder of PolySign.
Britto is known for being a “ghost,” with no verified photos and a preference for privacy. Despite conspiracy theories, he is real and intensely private. Ripple’s communications team stated that Britto’s desire for privacy is due to management taking a toll and personal reasons, as he is introverted and private.
XRP has surged by 8.1% in the past 24 hours, with most gains occurring after Britto’s post. XRP hit a low of $1.97 but has since risen to around $2.20. The timing coincides with a market rebound amid renewed optimism regarding a ceasefire in the Israel-Iran conflict. Ripple remains a ‘bad actor’ with no legal precedent set.
