Why Venture Global Rocketed Higher Today

From Nasdaq: 2025-06-03 16:34:00

Shares of LNG export company Venture Global (NYSE: VG) surged 18.7% on Tuesday, following the announcement of full mobilization of site work for its third LNG export facility, Calcasieu Pass 2 (CP2). The company aims to deliver low-cost LNG globally by 2027.

Venture Global received a final permit for CP2 construction on May 23, after the Trump administration un-paused permits for new LNG export terminals. The company’s swift progress from a start-up to breaking ground on its third facility since 2019 showcases its ambitious growth plans.

Despite the stock’s significant increase, Venture Global’s momentum may also be fueled by Meta Platforms’ nuclear power agreement with Constellation Energy. The demand for energy to power AI data centers indicates a promising future for both nuclear and natural gas industries.
