The SPDR Dow Jones Industrial Average ETF Trust (DIA) experienced outflows of $355.9 million, reducing its assets to $37.8 billion. This followed the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropping 142 points and President Trump’s push for higher tariffs on EU imports.
Meanwhile, the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (SPY) saw inflows of $2.2 billion, with Vanguard S&P 500 ETF (VOO) bringing in $966.7 million. The Simplify Government Money Market ETF (SBIL) gained $548.2 million, and the iShares Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHA) attracted $546.7 million.
Conversely, the First Trust Capital Strength ETF (FTCS) experienced outflows of $2 billion, while the FT Vest U.S. Equity Buffer ETF – July (FJUL) lost $792.1 million. Vanguard Extended Market ETF (VXF) saw outflows of $543.9 million amid tariff concerns impacting the markets.
Overall, U.S. equity ETFs lost $2.2 billion, while U.S. fixed-income ETFs attracted $1.3 billion. Despite trade tensions, international equity ETFs pulled in $737 million. Total ETF outflows amounted to $46.4 million as the EU tries to negotiate ahead of Trump’s tariff deadline on August 1.
