Amazon is facing two mass lawsuits in the UK, totaling up to $5.4 billion, for allegedly abusing its dominant position. One case, worth up to $2.7 billion, is brought by over 200,000 retailers, claiming Amazon manipulates its website to favor its own products. Another case, valued at up to $1.3 billion, is filed by a consumer advocate on behalf of millions of Amazon customers. The tribunal has certified both cases to proceed on an opt-out basis, despite Amazon’s arguments against it. Amazon maintains the claims are without merit and is confident it will be clear through the legal process.
