Bank of America’s profit rose in the second quarter due to increased revenue from trading in tumultuous markets. Sales and trading revenue jumped 15% to $5.4 billion, with equities revenue up 10% and FICC revenue up 16%. Investment banking fees fell 9%, but executives are optimistic about future deals. Profit was $7.1 billion, or 89 cents per share.
