Bosqar Invest acquires majority stake in Mlinar bakery, part of strategy to develop regional platform.
Croatian investment company Bosqar Invest has acquired a majority stake in local bakery business Mlinar for approximately €100m ($117.3m). Bosqar, along with Panvita Group and Mlinar’s management team, now holds a 67% indirect stake in the bakery group, purchased from MidEuropa. This move is part of Bosqar’s strategy to develop a leading regional food platform.
Mlinar, with five production facilities and over 2,500 employees, sold 220 million product units in 2024. The company’s revenue exceeded €163m in 2023, generated through retail, wholesale, and exports to over 20 markets. Operating over 300 retail locations in Croatia, Slovenia, and Serbia, Mlinar serves a market of 16 million people.
Bosqar’s acquisition of Mlinar follows their purchase of a 51% stake in Panvita in 2024. Bosqar aims to combine strong local brands, operational excellence, and sustainable production practices to create a leading regional food platform.
