Building materials maker CRH has agreed to acquire Eco Material Technologies for $2.1 billion to expand its presence in North America. CRH operates through two regional divisions, with the Americas business accounting for 65% of revenues. The industry is shifting to low-carbon alternatives, with CRH taking over Eco Material’s near-zero carbon cement production. CEO Jim Mintern sees this as securing materials for future growth. The deal is expected to close in 2025, funded by CRH’s cash reserves.
