Chevron competing for oil and gas exploration rights in Libya
Chevron Corporation (NYSE:CVX) is competing in Libya’s first oil and gas exploration tender, aiming to restore and boost the country’s oil sector to increase daily production to 2 million barrels by 2030. CVX, alongside other major oil companies, is seeking exploration rights for 22 offshore and onshore blocks.
The tender is a significant milestone for oil companies as Libya holds Africa’s largest proven oil reserves. Contracts with successful bidders are expected to be signed by the end of 2025.
