Corn prices fell on Tuesday morning, down 5 to 8 cents due to improved USDA crop ratings. Futures closed with losses on Monday, with preliminary open interest down slightly. Crop Progress data showed US corn crop silking at 8%, with condition ratings up to 73% good/excellent. The USDA Grain Stocks report indicated 4.643 bbu of corn in stocks on June 1, slightly above average trade estimates. Export Inspections report showed 1.37 MMT of corn shipped in the week of 6/26, with Mexico as the top destination. Jul 25 Corn closed at $4.20 1/2, Nearby Cash at $3.91 1/4, Sep 25 Corn at $4.09 1/4, and Dec 25 Corn at $4.25 1/2.
