House Republican leaders broke a deadlock on three crypto bills, with a record-long procedural vote. The vote to set up floor debate lasted over nine hours, passing 217-212. A ban on central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) will now be added to a must-pass defense spending bill, the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).

House Republicans declared this week as “Crypto Week” to pass the CLARITY Act, Anti-CBDC Surveillance Act, and GENIUS Act. President Donald Trump aims to sign the stablecoin-regulating GENIUS Act before the weekend. Votes on the GENIUS Act and CLARITY Act may occur Thursday, while others could be delayed to Friday or next week.
