Crypto venture capital investment surged to $10.03 billion in Q2 2025, highest since 2022
In Q2 2025, crypto venture capital investment rebounded strongly, reaching $10.03 billion, the highest since Q1 2022. Strive Funds secured $750 million, TwentyOneCapital raised $585 million, and Securitize raised $400 million, among others. The surge reflects a resurgence in appetite for crypto investments. June alone saw $5.14 billion raised, the highest since January 2022.
Coinbase Ventures led Q2 investments with 25 deals, followed by Animoca Brands and Andreessen Horowitz. Fundraising activity spanned various sectors like blockchain infrastructure and DeFi, with seed-stage deals dominating at 19.43%. Pre-seed, M&A, and Series A rounds also contributed to the surge in deal volume, indicating sustained interest in the ecosystem.
Galaxy Digital closed its first external venture fund, raising $175 million, surpassing its $150 million target. The fund will focus on high-growth crypto sectors like stablecoins, tokenization, and payments. Theta Capital Management also raised over $175 million for its fund-of-funds supporting early-stage blockchain startups.
