E3 Lithium receives key equipment for Clearwater project

E3 Lithium has received key equipment at the Clearwater project in Alberta, Canada. The equipment is crucial for the 30-column direct lithium extraction system and will support two phases of testing. The equipment consists of five separate skids designed for full automation.

Assembly and testing of the equipment will take place on-site in the coming weeks. This will ensure the equipment’s integrity post-transport before the commissioning process begins. The demonstration facility is set to start operations in phases starting in the latter half of 2025.

E3 Lithium’s president and CEO, Chris Doornbos, expressed excitement over the arrival of the equipment, marking a significant milestone towards commercial lithium production. The company has secured C$4.4m in non-repayable support from the Canadian government’s Critical Minerals Infrastructure Fund for pre-construction activities at the Clearwater project.

Each stage of the demonstration facility is crucial in validating E3 Lithium’s process technology and capacity to produce battery-grade lithium carbonate at scale. The company looks forward to providing updates on the progress towards commissioning Phase 1 of the facility.
