Eigenlayer launched a multichain verification feature allowing decentralized services to run on layer-2 networks while maintaining Ethereum-grade security. The protocol feature, introduced on the Sepolia Testnet, will soon expand to additional blockchains. CEO Sreeram Kannan highlighted the importance of supporting various chains to scale infrastructure.
Kannan expressed EigenCloud’s mission to scale verifiable infrastructure everywhere by enabling Actively Validated Services (AVS) to operate on multiple chains. The Multi-Chain Verification feature ensures AVSs inherit EigenLayer’s security across supported blockchains, eliminating the need for a trade-off between security and scalability.
Blockchain networks, including Eigenlayer, are upgrading technical capabilities. Build on Bitcoin recently introduced ZK fraud proofs in an optimistic rollup framework, while the Ethereum Foundation plans to implement zkEVM on the mainnet within a year. These enhancements aim to enhance network security and scalability for decentralized services.
