Eurozone inflation ticked up slightly to 2% in June due to higher energy prices, while core inflation remained stable at 2.3%. Despite the slight increase, inflationary pressures have weakened, with wage growth declining and economic performance sluggish. This could pave the way for another rate cut in the autumn. Services inflation saw minimal change, with package holiday prices bouncing back slightly. Goods inflation fell from 0.6 to 0.5%, indicating weak demand and little immediate consumer price pressure. Overall, inflation is expected to remain benign, thanks to moderating wage growth and sluggish economic growth.
