Cotton prices fluctuated on Tuesday, with October contracts down 14 points and others around UNCH. Futures closed Monday with 52 to 58 point losses. Crude oil futures fell 99 cents per barrel, and the US dollar weakened. USDA reported 75% of US cotton squaring and 33% setting bolls, with condition ratings improving.

Weather forecasts predict dryness in Texas and 1 to 2 inches of rain in the Southeast. The Seam reported 58 bales sold at an average price of 68.35 cents/lb. The Cotlook A Index dropped 5 cents to $79.45, and ICE cotton stocks remained steady. USDA’s AWP increased slightly to 54.72 cents/lb.
