Epic Games settles antitrust case against Samsung, ending legal battle

Epic Games has settled an antitrust case against Samsung, accusing the company of colluding with Google to block rival app stores on Samsung phones. Epic CEO Tim Sweeney announced the dismissal of the court case after discussions with Samsung. The lawsuit alleged that Samsung’s “Auto Blocker” feature was part of a coordinated effort to stifle competition in app distribution. This settlement follows Epic’s launch of its own mobile app store last year. Prior to suing Samsung, Epic had won an antitrust case against Google in 2023, where Google was ordered to open its app store to rivals.
