Gray Media and Scripps Create New Duopolies in Key U.S. Markets
Gray Media, Inc. and The E.W. Scripps Company have agreed to exchange TV stations in five markets to create new local duopolies, enhancing operational scale and financial strength. Gray will acquire Scripps’ WSYM (Fox) in Lansing, MI and KATC (ABC) in Lafayette, LA, while Scripps will gain stations in Colorado Springs, Grand Junction, and Twin Falls. The swap will result in expanded news coverage and staffing for both companies. The deal is structured as an even swap of assets with no cash exchanged, planned to close in Q4 2025 pending regulatory approval. SSP currently trades at $3.605 on the NasdaqGS, up 5.4094%.
