HOCHTIEF Wins $199.1m Rail Refurbishment Contract from Deutsche Bahn
HOCHTIEF secures a contract worth over €170m ($199.1m) from Deutsche Bahn to refurbish a 42km railway section along the Rhine’s right bank. The project involves renovating level crossings, train stations, and building pedestrian underpasses, with work scheduled from July to December 2026. This initiative is part of Germany’s rail infrastructure modernization efforts, with preparatory work starting in mid-2025. Another significant project in Munich involves HOCHTIEF constructing the second main line of the city’s S-Bahn network, connecting Ostbahnhof and Marienhof stations. CEO Juan Santamaría highlights the company’s contribution to Germany’s transportation infrastructure improvement. HOCHTIEF Group operates globally, focusing on advanced technology, energy transition, sustainable mobility, critical minerals, and natural resources. In the Netherlands, the GelreGroen JV, which includes HOCHTIEF, secures a substantial contract for a key highway project awarded by Rijkswaterstaat.
