JPMorgan Chase, the largest U.S. bank with over $4 trillion in assets, has teamed up with Coinbase to provide crypto access features to its 80 million-plus customers. Customers will be able to use Chase credit cards for Coinbase purchases, redeem Chase Ultimate Rewards for USDC, and link Chase bank accounts directly to Coinbase for streamlined transactions.

The rollout of these features is set to begin in fall 2025, with further developments planned for 2026. This partnership reflects a growing acceptance among major financial institutions in offering regulated access to crypto services. JPMorgan has previously shown a cautious but evolving approach to the crypto sector under CEO Jamie Dimon’s leadership.

JPMorgan has been gradually integrating blockchain solutions and participating in digital asset pilots through its Onyx blockchain division. The partnership with Coinbase, the largest publicly traded U.S. crypto exchange, allows JPMorgan’s retail clients to access crypto markets through stablecoins, credit integration, and loyalty rewards. This move marks a significant step in bridging traditional finance with the crypto world.

Coinbase sees this collaboration as part of its broader effort to provide seamless onramps for millions of users to enter the world of crypto. This partnership also enables users to convert Chase Ultimate Rewards into USDC on Coinbase’s Layer 2 network, Base, making it the first major U.S. rewards program to offer point-to-crypto conversion.
