US soft drinks major Keurig Dr Pepper (KDP) acquires Dyla Brands, a local manufacturer of powdered drink mixes and liquid water enhancers for $98m. Dyla specializes in products like Stur water enhancer and licensed products under KDP’s trademarks. The deal complements KDP’s Ghost energy drinks and lifestyle sports nutrition business.
KDP confirms the acquisition of Dyla Brands, a company it previously held a minority stake in. Dyla’s products include water enhancers without artificial flavors or sweeteners and collaborations with brands like Dole and Ocean Spray. KDP plans for Dyla to operate as a standalone unit within its portfolio.
Nate Champagne, VP of KDP, believes the acquisition of Dyla will capitalize on the growing demand for functional and on-the-go beverage enhancers. Neel Premkumar, Dyla founder, expresses pride in helping Americans drink more water and reduce sugar intake. KDP reports a 5.5% increase in net sales in the first half of the year.
KDP faces pressures in its coffee segment from inflation but remains focused on cost savings, pricing strategies, and alternate sourcing. The company aims to prioritize high-returning products and premium propositions in coffee. KDP reaffirms its full-year 2025 guidance with projected sales growth and earnings per share increase.
