German flag carrier Deutsche Lufthansa AG reported a significant increase in profit in the second quarter, despite a slight decline in passenger load factor. For the 2025 financial year, the company predicts higher revenue and adjusted EBIT compared to the previous year. Available capacity for passenger airlines is expected to be 4 percent higher than the previous financial year. The positive outlook is attributed to the earnings trend for Lufthansa Airlines, fuel prices, and Lufthansa Cargo’s strong fourth quarter performance. In the second quarter, net profit surged 116 percent to 1.01 billion euros, with total revenue growing 3 percent to 10.32 billion euros. Passenger load factor dropped slightly to 82.0 percent.
