McDermott secures offshore installation contract in Brazil, expected to boost production
McDermott has secured a contract in Brazil for offshore transportation and installation for the Papa-Terra and Atlanta fields. The contract involves pipelines, umbilical, and subsea equipment for new wells at Papa-Terra and Atlanta Phase 2. The new wells are expected to boost production and extend the lifespan of deepwater infrastructure.
BRAVA Energia finalized a deal with Trafigura for the sale of six million barrels of oil from the Atlanta field in early 2025. McDermott’s history with the Papa-Terra field includes delivering the tension leg wellhead platform, a first for a dry-tree floating production system in Brazil. The company’s commitment to the South American market is evident in recent projects.
McDermott’s subsea and floating facilities senior vice-president highlighted the importance of subsea infrastructure for long-term production in deepwater developments. The company’s integrated delivery model, marine capabilities, and expertise in brownfield deepwater solutions will support Brazil and the broader South American offshore market.
