Meta Expands AI Team with OpenAI Researchers hire

Meta has added two more former OpenAI researchers, Allan Jabri and Lu Liu, to its Superintelligence team, bringing the total number of ex-OpenAI staff onboard to over a dozen. Both specialize in multimodal AI, which blends text, image, and video understanding.

The hires are part of Meta’s aggressive AI expansion under its new Superintelligence Labs, led by former Scale AI CEO Alexandr Wang. The company has been offering lucrative packages to attract top talent, including recent additions from Apple and Anthropic.

As competition heats up among AI heavyweights, Meta’s growing roster signals its serious intent to lead in next-gen artificial intelligence.
