Meta Platforms reported second-quarter 2025 earnings of $7.14 per share, beating estimates by 22.5% and increasing 38.4% year over year. Revenues of $47.52 billion exceeded expectations by 5.96% and grew 21.6% year over year. Family of Apps revenues rose 21.8% to $47.15 billion with 3.48 billion daily active people.
Advertising revenues increased 21.5% to $46.56 billion, representing 98% of total revenues. Ad impressions grew 11% year over year, with average price per ad up 9%. Family of Apps’ other revenues surged 50% to $583 million, while Reality Labs’ revenues increased 4.8% to $370 million.
Operating income jumped 37.7% year over year to $20.44 billion, with an operating margin of 43%, expanding 500 bps. Total costs and expenses were $27.08 billion, up 11.8% year over year, with Family of Apps expenses at $22.2 billion. Employee base was 75,945, up 7% year over year.
Cash & marketable securities were $47.07 billion as of June 30, 2025, with long-term debt at $28.83 billion. Capital expenditures were $17.01 billion in Q2, and free cash flow was $8.55 billion. Meta Platforms expects total revenues between $47.5 billion and $50.5 billion for Q3 2025. Operating expenses for 2025 are projected to be between $114 billion and $118 billion.
