OMV Petrom discovers new natural gas reservoir in Spineni, Romania with significant production potential.
OMV Petrom has discovered a new natural gas reservoir in Spineni, Romania, located 70km northeast of Craiova. The 1 Spineni exploration well drilled to 4,800m depth confirmed natural gas and condensate presence. Production testing revealed a potential of 180,000m³ of gas and 25m³ of condensate per day. This translates to 1,300 barrels of oil equivalent daily, a significant addition to energy resources. The discovery was made possible through a €15m investment and data from the 3D Spineni seismic survey. The commercial viability has led to a development plan for exploitation, contributing to local and regional energy supply.
