RealSense, an AI-powered computer vision tech firm, secures $50m in Series A funding after its spinout from Intel. The investment from a semiconductor private equity firm, Intel Capital, and MediaTek Innovation Fund positions RealSense as an independent entity focusing on AI, robotics, biometrics, and computer vision innovation.
The funding will enable RealSense to expand into emerging markets, enhance manufacturing, sales, and global go-to-market presence. The goal is to meet the rising demand for humanoid and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) and AI-powered access control and security solutions.
RealSense CEO Nadav Orbach expressed excitement about the company’s leadership in 3D perception in robotics and scalable growth potential in physical AI. The independence allows RealSense to innovate boldly and adapt to market dynamics, leading AI innovation and the robotics renaissance.
RealSense has partnerships with companies like ANYbotics, Eyesynth, Fit:Match, and Unitree Robotics, showcasing industry traction in robotics, industrial automation, security, and healthcare. The company will continue supporting its customer base and product roadmap, including RealSense depth cameras used in 60% of the world’s AMRs and humanoid robots.
RealSense’s recent D555 depth camera, equipped with RealSense Vision SoC V5 and supporting Power over Ethernet, enhances robots’ and security systems’ environment comprehension with integrated AI capabilities. CEO Orbach emphasized the mission to safely integrate robotics and AI into everyday life.
The leadership team at RealSense consists of veteran technologists and business leaders with expertise in computer vision, AI, and robotics. The company plans to expand its GTM team and hire more AI, software, and robotics engineers to meet the growing demand in the robotics and biometrics market, which is projected to quadruple.
Intel is considering divesting its networking and edge businesses, as reported by Reuters in June 2025. “RealSense secures $50m in Series A funding post-Intel spinout” was originally published by Verdict, a GlobalData owned brand.
