After a slow start, the S&P 500 rallied on Tuesday, aiming for a record close. By midday, the market benchmark was up 0.1%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 1%, still 1.1% away from its Dec. 4 record.
Despite recent losses in tech and AI, the Nasdaq Composite hit record highs on Friday and Monday. Wall Street saw some winners shed, with the Nasdaq down 0.6% on Tuesday. The S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average were both on the rise, with the S&P looking to close at a new high.
