Italy’s Veralab beauty brand, founded by Cristina Fogazzi, is set to go global after exponential growth since 2015. CEO Paolo Deponti announced expansion into Spain with an exclusive deal at El Corte Inglés, following a successful website launch. Physical stores in Italy will also increase, with a focus on community building.

Veralab’s omnichannel strategy includes expanding to over 1,000 sales points in Italy, with online sales reaching 65 million euros last year. The brand’s skincare products generated 90 million euros in sellout, with makeup line Overskin projected to grow to 25 million euros in 2025. Sales have shown steady growth in recent years.

The pandemic marked a turning point for Veralab, nearly doubling sales in 2020 to 55 million euros. The brand’s success is attributed to affordable prices and catchy communication. Fogazzi’s Estetista Cinica persona and Bellavera beauty salon background have helped the brand rise to prominence, with one million Instagram followers.

Deponti emphasized the importance of brick-and-mortar stores for community building, a key aspect of Veralab’s success. The brand’s expansion into the Spanish market and physical rollout in Italy demonstrate a strategic approach to global growth. Fogazzi’s influence and inclusive beauty philosophy have resonated with a wide audience, leading to Veralab’s rapid rise in the beauty industry. In 2023, Veralab expanded into color cosmetics with the launch of the Overskin makeup line, attracting customers and investors. Peninsula Capital acquired a 30% stake in Veralab’s parent company, citing the brand’s strength in Italy and inclusive message. The private equity firm also invested in Kiko SpA and holds minority stakes in other brands.
